Armed Robbery

There was an armed robbery on Friday, September 19, 2008 at 11:30AM on the 2000 block of Racine.  The victim pulled into the alley behind her residence when she noticed a gold Jeep, possibly a Cherokee, following behind her.  She locked her car doors and pulled into her garage - lowering the door. One of the offenders slid under the closing door and produced a hand gun, robbing the victim of her purse, cell-phone and jewelry.

Offenders: 

• Male black, in his twenties, 6'0", 180 lbs., wearing a red baseball cap and a white t-shirt displaying a metal handgun.
• Male black, in his twenties, nothing further.
• Male black, in his twenties, nothing further.

The Police Department has assigned additional patrols to the area.  This appears to be an isolated incident and does not match any recent crimes in the area or beyond.   

What you can do:

• Always stay alert and aware of your surroundings.
• If you think someone is following you while driving, pull into a public place for help or keep driving to a safer location. 
• If you notice anyone acting suspiciously, call Chicago Police Emergency at 9-1-1.
• Attend your local CAPS meeting.
